The But Also returns with a very special line up! Please come out for these poetry gems: Zach Ozma, Zoe Tuck (yes, my cohost is reading!) and Emily Hunerwadel.
Zoe Tuck and Zach Ozma are cosmic twins who met in Oakland and now both live on the east coast. They will be reading at the But Also to end their east coast tour celebrating the release of Zach Ozma's first full length poetry book, Black Dog Drinking from an Outdoor Pool and Zoe Tuck's chapbook, Soft Investigations out from Daisy Mayhem Press. Zoe & Zach will be joined by the ever talented and cool Emily Hunerwadel.
Emily Hunerwadel is the author of the chapbook Professional Crybaby, selected by Kyle Dargan for the Poetry Society of America’s 2017 Chapbook Fellowship. She received her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. She cohosts and produces the poetry podcast, Spaces (found on http://poetspaces.org), and she recently designed and edited the 2019 Cosmonauts Avenue Anthology. Born and raised in the deep south, she currently lives in Western Massachusetts.
Zach Ozma is a poet, potter, and social practice artist. Embodiment theory, archival research, and neo-classically gay imagery inform his practice. Employing mimesis, pedagogy, humor, surprise, and reward, he works in a variety of materials including ceramics, found objects, performance, writing, and works on paper. He is the author of BLACK DOG DRINKING FROM AN OUTDOOR POOL (Sibling Rivalry Press, 2019) and co-edited WE BOTH LAUGHED IN PLEASURE: The Selected Diaries of Lou Sullivan (Nightboat Books, forthcoming) with Ellis Martin. He holds a BFA in Community Arts from California College of the Arts in Oakland. Ozma lives and works in the Philadelphia area.
Zoe Tuck was born in Texas, became a person in California, and now lives in Massachusetts, where she is building the Threshold Academy, a bookstore and non-traditional educational / performance space. She co-curates the But Also house reading series. Zoe is the author of Terror Matrix (Timeless, Infinite Light 2014), and is currently working on new poems and a critical book of trans poetics.
